What’s it like to compete in the longest, non-stop, point-to-point race on the planet?
I travelled to Mexico with Vancouver-based YOLO Racing to find out.
YOLO Racing is an off-road race team comprised of firefighters, truck drivers and business owners. The team, in various iterations, has competed in the Score Baja 1000 seven times. They are the 2012 overall class champions (Class 5).
I spent just over a week with the team in November (2014), shooting the prepping/planning and, ultimately, the 1275-mile race over a gruelling 48-hour stretch.
